The dial boasts a crisp silver sunburst pattern with a glossy lacquer finish, adorned with polished beveled markers accented by black inlay striping. Above the "Suwa" symbol, the "Lord Marvel" branding is cleanly printed, followed by the distinction of 36000, indicating its high beat movement.

The polished sword hands are elegantly striped and taper to a fine point. Inside, the watch houses Seiko's 5740C movement, a marvel of precision. It can be manually wound using the oversized crown and operates at a frequency of 36000 beats per hour, giving the slender and extended second hand a smooth gliding motion along the minute track.

 

What sets this particular piece apart is the unique case-back. It has been custom engraved as it was originally a gift from Idemitsu Kosan to a loyal employee, commemorating its 60 years of founding. This rarity adds to the allure of this extraordinary timepiece.

  • Overall, this piece is in great vintage condition. The case is still sharp and retains angeled bevels. The stainless steel case has some light scratches but it's in very good condition. The original linen dial is very clean for its age with no discoloration. A tiny black dot can be observed at the 1 O'clock marker but it unnoticeable by the naked eye.

    The original case back is also in great condition. There is an engraving on the back and it mentions that it is a gift from Idemitsu Kosan to a loyel employee to celebrate its 60 years of founding.

    The watch has been serviced and is currently running at an outstanding +1 seconds/day in the upright position.
