This term eventually gave way to the more straightforward "water-resistant" in the early 1970s. Citizen showcased the watch's capabilities by tethering it to buoys in the Sea of Japan.

The Citizen Jet Autodater 120m embodies typical dive watch features: A rotating graduated bezel with a luminous pip at 12 o'clock, bold luminous hour markers on a beautiful matte black dial, and luminous hands with black tips.

This unique reference lacks serial numbers, making accurate dating impossible. Powered by the intriguing Citizen Calibre 1120 Jet movement (1962-1965), it suggests that Citizen's initial dive watch might predate Seiko's "62MAS."
