In the early 1960s, Orient was a small, ambitious brand with something to prove, and Japan was a country getting ready to show the world what it could do. The Olympia Orient line came out of that moment. The name was a statement of intent, and the watches backed it up with honest, robust movements and designs that borrowed nothing from anyone.

The Weekly 21 Diver is one of the most charming results. It runs on a 21-jewel hand-wound movement with a day-date display, which is where the "Weekly" name comes from. It sits in a compact steel case that is pure 1960s tool watch: sharp, purposeful, and sized for wrists of the era. The matte black dial keeps everything clean and legible. It belongs to the same family that gave rise to the Calendar Auto Orient divers, and it shares their refusal to play it safe.

Today's offering is new old stock. The case is untouched, the dial is immaculate, the caseback still carries its original sticker, and the watch is still on its original bracelet. Finding one of these at all is difficult. Finding one that has never been worn is something else.

Overall, this Weekly Diver is in immaculate, unused condition. The case is sharp, with no signs of use.

The matte black dial is immaculate. The glass is clean and clear, apart from a small hairline crack at 5 o'clock that is barely noticeable.

The caseback is immaculate and retains its original sticker.

The watch comes on its original bracelet.
